Quicksilver 705 Open Named Finalist at the Best of Boats Award 2025

We are proud to announce that the Quicksilver 705 Open has been selected as a finalist in the “Best for Beginners” category at the prestigious Best of Boats (BOB) Award 2025.

The BOB Award is one of the most internationally renowned recognitions in the boating industry. Every year, a 16-member jury of editors-in-chief and test managers from leading boating magazines across Europe and the USA conducts nearly 300 boat tests. Only boats that have been thoroughly tested by at least four jury members are eligible, making the BOB Award a true seal of quality and user-focused excellence.

What makes the Best of Boats Award special is that the jury's verdict is based directly on the perspective of future boat users, not on boat length. Only boats tested by at least four judges are considered, and new models still in development are not eligible. The thoroughness and technical depth of the test drives make the Best of Boats Award a benchmark in the industry and one of the most internationally respected awards in the boating world.

After an intensive season with almost 300 boat tests, the 22 finalists for the Best of Boats Award 2025 have now been determined. In addition to the traditional categories Best for Beginners, Best for Family, and Best for Fun, boats will also be awarded in the recently introduced Best for Adventure category, dedicated to closed sports boats. Also returning this year is the Best Big Boats category, celebrating luxury motor yachts for long-distance cruising up to 60 feet.

The Quicksilver 705 Open stood out among this year’s entries thanks to its versatility, intuitive handling, and ease of use — making it an ideal choice for new boaters. It joins three other strong contenders in the Best for Beginners category:

  • Bayliner C21 (USA)
  • Highfield ADV 7 (China)
  • Roto / River Hydra 530 (Slovenia / Norway)

The winners will be announced at the Best of Boats Award Ceremony during BOAT & FUN BERLIN on 27 November 2025, an event that brings together shipyard representatives, international press, and boating industry leaders.
